Software is a product of Business Micro Resource Corporation,
established in 1988. Development of FireTools began in 1990 with the
customer base limited primarily to Michigan fire departments until
1999. Initially, FireTools was a DOS program. During the 1990s,
FireTools was expanded to include thorough modules for Site Records,
Incident Reporting and Personnel Records (with training records).
went "National" in 1999 with the introduction of the Windows version
and the NFIRS 5.0 version of the Incident Reporting System module. An
Equipment Record System module was added in 2003. All modules have been
enhanced over the years and now include features that are made
available by competitors as extra cost options.
development team at FireTools follows a rigid set of rules to assure
product satisfaction. It not only must meet the customer's record
keeping and reporting requirements, it must be easy to use while doing
so. Customers who have switched from competing brands tell us it takes
half the time to complete an incident report with FireTools than it did
with the prior product.
Product development is an on-going
process and we are committed to keeping FireTools current with USFA
NFIRS 5.0 specification and continuing program enhancements. Updates
are distributed to all FireTools customers at least once a year to
correspond with USFA changes and oftener, when appropriate.
